Medicare

Medicare, explained one step at a time.

Whether you are turning 65, retiring, or reviewing the plan you already have, we help you understand Parts A, B, C, and D, compare your options, and enroll with confidence.

Your main Medicare paths

Original Medicare (Parts A and B) covers hospital and medical care. You can add a Part D prescription drug plan and, if you want help with out of pocket costs, a Medicare Supplement plan, often called Medigap.

Medicare Advantage (Part C) combines Parts A and B, usually includes prescription drug coverage, and is offered by private carriers approved by Medicare. Networks, copays, and extra benefits vary by plan and by county.

There is no single best path. The right fit depends on your doctors, your prescriptions, how you use care, and what you can comfortably spend each month and each year.

Timing matters

Most people first become eligible around age 65 and have an Initial Enrollment Period that runs three months before, the month of, and three months after their 65th birthday month.

If you are still working and covered by an employer plan, your timing may be different. Missing a deadline can mean late enrollment penalties, so it is worth a short conversation before you turn 65 or leave employer coverage.

Each fall, the Annual Enrollment Period runs from October 15 to December 7. That is the window to review and change Medicare Advantage and Part D coverage for the coming year.

How we help

We start with your doctors and prescriptions, because a low premium plan that excludes your doctor or your medication is not a low cost plan.

We compare total cost, premium plus the copays and coinsurance you are likely to pay, not just the monthly premium.

We explain the tradeoffs in plain language and give you time to decide. Then we help with enrollment and stay available when questions come up later.

Common questions

Does a Medicare review cost anything?

No. A coverage review with our agency is free and comes with no obligation to enroll.

Can you tell me which plan is best?

We can compare the plans we offer against your doctors, prescriptions, and budget, and explain the differences. The choice is always yours.

What should I bring to a review?

A list of your doctors, your prescriptions, and any current coverage cards. Please do not send your Medicare number or Social Security number by email or through this website form.
